Where AI is used at Marlow

1. Matching. Introductions are curated by automated systems that analyze your application

answers (including free-text), preferences, photos, city and travel patterns, and your

accept/pass decisions, combined with human oversight. Every match includes a plain-language

explanation of why it was made.

2. Photo analysis. Automated systems check photos for quality (a clear face photo, heavy

filters), authenticity signals, and pairing-relevant characteristics used internally by the

matching system. Photo analysis never produces a score shown to you or any member, and face

verification data is governed by the Biometric Consent.

3. Aria, your coach. Aria is an AI assistant — not a human, not a therapist. California

members: this is your bot disclosure; everyone else: it's still true.

4. Application parsing. AI extracts structured signals from your written answers (values,

attachment markers, deal-breakers) to feed matching and Aria's personalization.

5. Date ideas & rationale text. Generated by AI from both members' stated preferences.

What Aria is and isn't

— Aria offers relationship-skills information, conversation help, date planning, and

reflection prompts, drawing on published relationship research.

— Aria is not a licensed therapist, psychologist, physician, or crisis service, and does

not provide medical, mental-health, legal, or financial advice. Nothing Aria says is a

diagnosis or treatment.

— For heavy topics — grief, abuse, self-harm, substance dependence — Aria is designed to pause

coaching and point you to qualified human help. **If you are in crisis, contact local

emergency services, or in the US call/text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline).**

— Aria will never knowingly help you manipulate or deceive another person, and is not permitted

to discuss internal scores or rankings.

Your rights around automated processing

— Human in the loop where it matters: application decisions and account terminations always

involve human review — no fully automated rejection with significant effects.

— Explanations: every match ships with its rationale; you can ask support how a specific

automated decision about your account was reached.

— Objection & deletion: you can object to profiling, delete Aria history, or delete your

account (which erases matching signals) — Privacy Dashboard, or privacy@marlowlove.com.

— No third-party training: your content is processed under agreements that prohibit our AI

providers from training their models on it.

Honesty clause

AI systems make mistakes: a rationale can overstate fit, a parsed signal can be wrong, a date

idea can miss. Marlow's promise is curation with accountability — tell us when the system gets

you wrong (one tap of feedback on any match) and it adjusts.
